Details You Choose to Send
A name, telephone number, or address entered in a search box goes to the outside company that provides the results. We do not keep a server copy of that search. If you contact us directly, we receive the information in your message and use it to answer you.
Data Recorded Automatically
Ordinary hosting logs can include an IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and time stamps. Aggregated traffic helps us maintain the service and see how pages are used. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics and advertising measurement.
Reasons We Process Information
We use available data to operate and troubleshoot the site, measure traffic, and improve pages. We do not build individual reader profiles or sell lists of visitors.
Rules on External Services
Wood County portals, West Virginia systems, archives, libraries, and outside search providers publish separate privacy terms. Their rules govern once you follow an external link or submit a query through sponsored results.
Parties That Process Data
Providers that host or support the service may process server logs on our behalf. Analytics and advertising partners can receive the automatic information described above. We also disclose information when valid legal process requires it.
Safeguards and Retention
Connections to the site are encrypted, and logs are retained only as long as the stated purposes require. Visitors do not create accounts here, so we hold no account password or member profile for you.
Visitors Younger Than 18
This service is intended for adults, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor submitted information so we can remove it.
Privacy Requests and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of data maintained by a website. As of the research date, no comprehensive enacted West Virginia consumer-data law granting universal access, deletion, correction, and sale opt-out rights was identified. Proposed bills are not current law. We can check the contact mailbox and available logs after a request reaches the Contact page. Government records remain under the control of West Virginia, Wood County, or Parkersburg custodians, so any correction, restriction, or removal request for those records must go to the office that holds them. Public access to non-exempt state and local records is governed separately by the West Virginia Freedom of Information Act, W.Va. Code chapter 29B.
Changes to This Policy
We will post policy revisions here. Continued use after a revision takes effect indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
